Ben Nevis sits gracefully aside the munros and lochs of the stunning Scottish Highlands. My cousin Lorraine and I have decided to take on this mountain know to be the highest peak in the UK. With a combination of my asthma and a few tumours in my lungs, this probably isn’t a good idea but I’m doing it anyway! Mind over matter; we'll make the 9 mile round-trip journey to conquer this majestic mountain.
I was first diagnosed with primary breast cancer in 2010. I had a single mastectomy, 6 rounds of chemo, 15 sessions of radiotherapy and then a breast reconstruction towards the end of 2011. I then had 7 years of hormone targeted therapy to reduce the chance of reoccurrence. In 2018 the worst happened and I was diagnosed with incurable stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. I am confident that a cure will be found in my lifetime, to help speed that along I figured I should probably help raised funds more more research!
