Story
As I am nearing the big 3 0 this year I started to think... what is something I should do now? And one of those things was skydive. During my research into skydiving I came across One Giant Leap organised by the Alzheimer's Society. This is a charity I feel strongly about having lost my Grandma to Dementia in August last year. So what better thing to do than to tick something off my bucket list and also raise money for charity whilst I'm at it?!
Top questions I have been asked so far:
Why?
Why not?
Are you scared?
Not yet!
What if you get injured?
Future Beki's Problem...
So please dig into your pockets and help me reach my fundraising target of £500! (As I've now hit this target I'm really hoping to double it and raise £1000!) I'll be jumping on the 21st October shortly after my 30th birthday but I need to have raised all the money by 5th October, so instead of getting me a birthday present this year please donate!
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
£11 could pay for a person with dementia and their carer to attend one of our Dementia Cafes.
£30 could fund one of our side by side services for an hour, pairing people with dementia with volunteers so that they have the support they need.
£50 could fund the equipment a dementia researcher needs for a day to investigate ways to improve care and treatment for the condition
