Belfast Lough Sailability is established for the relief of disability and the advancement of education; namely sailing by disabled people, involving training, recreation and competition: and to promote the preservation of health and sefety therein.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are raising money for 'Sailability' a local charity that brings the joy of sailing and boating to disabled and disadvantaged people across Northern Ireland. RYA Sailability was set up by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) to give adults and children with any form of disability the opportunity to take up the sport and learn the skill of sailing.

On the 16th July our group of nine experienced swimmers will be participating in an open water swim which will begin in Greys Point, Bangor and will finish at Carrickfergus Castle. The straight-line distance of the swim is 3.02 nautical miles, however, the tide and open water swim distance will be in the region of approximately 3.75 miles.

The nine swimmers taking part are, Agnes & Larry McAteer, Andy Simpson, Claire Hamilton, Glenn Picken, John Grant, Matt & Vikki McAneney and Bob Montgomery.

We appreciate any donations in support of what we are doing to raise money for this great charity. We would also love your support on the day when we cross the finish line!
