My family has a long history with the Boys & Girls Club. My father began attending the Boys Club when he was a preteen.  His mother was a young widow with 6 children, so the Club provided a place for him to go to play sports and also have positive adult influences and interactions.  The mission is still the same today. There are extensive specialized group programs such as sewing, gardening, cooking,
workforce development for teens, hot meals and snacks, as well as tutoring and homework help. Over the past year, Boys & Girls Club of Blount County served more than 100 members from 14 area schools.  For some families, the cost for their child to attend the Club is too great.
