A little about us and why we need your help……
Our 9 year old daughter Bella is taking part in a ‘daddy daughter adventure’ and whizzing off to Snowdon to complete the Llanberis Path:
Distance: 9 miles (there and back)
Total Climb: 975m (3,199 ft)
Time: Approx 6 hours (there and back)
Bella finishes school for the summer holidays on the 7th July and they will set off on their road trip. Staying overnight in a treehouse, ready to get up early and start their adventure! This is sure to be a real challenge mentally and physically for Bella to complete but one she wants to achieve with help from Daddy.
Why are we doing it? ……we want to do this to raise awareness for the Follicular Lymphoma Foundation charity. One of our very best friends Sarah, (moron as we fondly call her 🥰) was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma last year. We are so so proud of Sarah and how she has dealt with this, especially during the pandemic and these exceptionally challenging times. Whilst Sarah continues to receive expert treatment to manage her lymphoma we wanted to do something to help and raise awareness.
Follicular Lymphoma is currently an incurable blood cancer. It affects thousands of people but the chances are, unless you have or know someone with it, you have never heard of it, we certainly hadn’t.
Follicular Lymphoma was first diagnosed in 1925, almost 100 years ago.
It has been nearly fifty years since the last major scientific discovery was made that changed the landscape of treatment.
With all the tremendous advances in medical science over the last few decades, it is time to focus more attention and energy on finding a cure for Follicular Lymphoma.
Please support us in raising as much money as possible for this charity, no matter how little, every bit is appreciated.
Sarah, Jim, Bella & Tilly xx
