Story

Bella was born at 30 weeks weighing only 2lb 14oz. During her 6 weeks in special care, we were told she had two small cysts in her brain that would possibly affect her mobility but we would have to wait and see to what extent.

At 2 years old Bella was diagnosed with Bilateral dyskinetic cerebral palsy which affects her from her waist down. She is currently unable to stand or walk unaided but we are hoping through physical therapy and providing her with intensive therapy treatment and specialised equipment she will become independent, however this may be.

Although Bella is supported by NHS physio unfortunately due to it's limitations they are not able to provide weekly or regular intensive therapy and we have found that Bella really benefits from these. We have also found a specialist orthotics consultant who has provided the best and most supportive splints that have helped Bella so much.

Unfortunately these private sessions are expensive. I have listed some of the costing below:

- £80 for 1 hour private physio

- £1500 for 1 week intensive therapy with SwimLab

- £1750 for custom made Ankle Foot Orthosis

Your money will help support us to make sure Bella gets access to everything she needs to achieve her independence.

Thank you so much for your contribution. It is so much appreciated.

7.5% of all donations to Tree of Hope in relation to this appeal will be allocated to the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope to cover our core operating costs.

If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, then the funds will be used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objects. If in those circumstances we are unable to use all or part of the funds for the benefit of our child in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objectives, then any funds that cannot be used will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope.
