Story

Most people will know someone affected by cancer and the massive impact it has on their lives, and most people affected by cancer need some kind of specialist support - so please consider sponsoring me so that I can do a little bit to help

Sadly I lost my amazing Uncle in 2015 to cancer and it has also previously affected my Grandfather's life too, so this hits close to home and after already volunteering at events such as Isle of Wight festival for Macmillan, I want to reach out and do more, especially at a crucial time like this. When many charities may be struggling with their donations, etc. Please join in with the 7 day challenge, or if it is not your cup of tea please donate anything you can, whether that just be £1 it is widely appreciated. I will be starting the 7 day challenge after completing my university exams on Wednesday 27th of May.

Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity that works across the whole of the UK and relies 100% on charitable donations from very kind people. Macmillan has been affected by CV19 which has reduced its charitable income by tens of millions of pounds

It uses the donations to invest in services to support people who have been affected by cancer. This includes: funding Clinical Nurse Specialists in hospitals who support specific cancer types, such as breast cancer or lung cancer, by providing grants to people affected by cancer; by providing 7 day a week telephone support line staffed by nurses, financial advisors and people able to offer signposting advice, by providing support to the healthcare workforce so that they have the skills to deliver good quality cancer care, by providing a moderated on line community for people to share experiences and advice and by working with people affected by cancer to learn from their experience and use that to influence the health sector to make improvements.
