Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

In February 2018 my Mum, Karen, died suddenly from heart failure: Aortic Stenosis. I want to achieve something in my Mums memory that will help fund heart research and eventually prevent others from having to go through the unexpected death of a loved one in the same way.

My Mum lived her life ruled by heart; her relationships, her job changes, her passion for travel and adventure. My Mum was the most fun-loving, outgoing person I've ever known, she loved life relentlessly and she loved her friends and her family fiercely.

I have run marathons before and Mum was always there to watch me cross the finish line. The London Marathon is the holy grail of marathons, Mum always said she would love to see me run it. I entered the ballot but was never successful before, but now this is the perfect opportunity to fulfil this dream and raise some money in Mums memory.

I hope that between mine and Mums friends and family, we can raise a decent amount of money for a great cause. £3000 is just the starting target, so that more beautiful people like she was, get to stick around a little longer.
