OSCAR's PBTC was set up in memory of Oscar Hughes, a 9-year-old who died of a brain tumour in 2014. His journey was heartbreaking yet inspiring. OSCAR's aims to provide support and care to children with brain tumours, raise awareness to help diagnosis and fund research into better treatments.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year i am aiming to complete 5 challenges to raise £1500 for Oscar’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity.

1. 11th June - Dalby’s Inferno and the 10 circles of suffering: A 50km trail endurance event through Dalby Forest. Run 5km on the hour, every hour, for 10 hours.

2. 2nd / 3rd July - Endure24 (Bramham Park, Leeds): 16 members of our Centurion’s fitness group, split into 3 groups. Each group aims to complete as many 5 mile loops as possible by running continuously as a relay team for 24 hours between 12:00 Saturday and 12:00 Sunday.

3. 7th August - York 10k: Target sub-45 minutes to complete.

4. 11th September - Great North Run: 13.1 mile half marathon from Newcastle - Gateshead target sub 1hr 50 minutes to complete.

5. 16th October - Yorkshire Marathon: 26.2 mile marathon around York. My first (and likely last) marathon.

My family has experienced the pain of losing loved ones to circumstances associated with brain tumours. During the year in which my cousin would have celebrated his 40th birthday I am hoping to raise as much money as possible to help this incredible charity support children suffering with brain tumours and their families.

Oscar’s aims to support and care for children facing brain tumours, to raise awareness of children’s brain tumours and to fund new research to drive down diagnosis time, increase survival rate and improve children’s quality of life during and after treatment.
