Story
As many of you know I will be competing in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, San Francisco in June.
For those of you who are unaware, the triathlon brings an element of danger during the swim. It has been known for Great White Sharks to be lurking in the waters (just Google "alcatraz triathlon shark attack") - I don't think they'll be as friendly as those sharks shown in the photos. Having done half marathons and Olympic distance triathlons previously I still see this to be a tough challenge with a 1.5 mile swim, 18 mile bike and a 8 mile run which will be my longest distance yet!
Another aspect of competing in this event, is to raise money for a good cause!
Did you know that almost 350,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. That's about 1,000 everyday. Such a large number which can be reduced through ongoing research. This is why I have chosen to represent Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research UK, supports numerous causes, ranging from research, welfare to helping raise awareness, check out their website here to learn more about them and what they do @ http://www.cancerresearchuk.org
It would be great if you could donate to this charity through my Just Giving page.
