Story
Hi everyone, I’m taking part in ride London on Sunday 29th May, a 100 mile bike ride starting and ending in Central London that goes through the Essex countryside and villages in between.
I purchased my own entry because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do however I’ve also been moved recently by the work of a charity called - Cyclists fighting cancer. I couldn’t help but be touched at what they do for kids and young people who are battling cancer. This charity provide kids and young people with new bikes helping them rebuild their fitness, strength and mental well-being, allowing them to be mobile and have a sense of independence, seeing exactly what that does and how that makes a kid feel is priceless and has had a lasting effect on me making me want to really get on board and help.
Here’s a bit about Cyclists Fighting Cancer.
Every year in the UK approximately 2,400 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer and we are passionate about helping all of these families along this difficult journey. Every penny of your donation will go directly to helping kids with cancer by providing them with new bikes and specially adapted trikes which help them to regain their physical fitness, strength, mental wellness and reduce their social isolation after months of cancer treatment. Since the charity began in 2005 we have helped over 8,000 children in their rehabilitation, to get outside, get active and have some much needed fun!
Please donate what you can, it would mean the world to me and the charity!!
