*Having had the run cancelled in 2020, I have now signed up for the 2021 Great South Run on 17th October 2021. All donations are still very much welcome! Mr Sean Woof is now joining me for 2021*
We are running the Great South Run on behalf of Mind.
Mind are an established charity that provide support, information and education to those that may need it. They help people to help themselves, as well as learn to help those that are close to them. Mind also provide 3 helplines, offering guidance on medication, where to get help, types of mental health problems, legal advice and more. Mind also operate a "supportive online community" called Elefriends (https://www.elefriends.org.uk), allowing users a safe place to be heard, listen and share. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAf-tvSI_2Y
1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem in any given year. Yet it is estimated that only 25% of people receive support for mental health problems each year. The chances are that you, or someone very close to you, has experienced or is experiencing some sort of challenge to their mental health. But you may not even know it. This is why it is so important to be aware of the signs of a condition, and the methods that can be used to support someone in overcoming their personal struggle.
The Mind strategy:

Stephen Fry (Mind President): "The mind, like the body, is prone to disease or disorder, and we must end the stigma of mental health problems"
