Story

My marathon journey started on 29th March when I
came across an article detailing a one month marathon attempt. Here's the link… https://medium.com/@ezyjules/idiots-one-month-marathon-training-programme-b6311f4e156f

When I finished reading it I didn’t think I could do a marathon. However, it did inspire me to get out and test myself running on the hard surfaces of the roads. That evening I did a single mile with little discomfort. My right knee, which I injured badly nearly three years ago, held strong. Fast forward to Wednesday 24th when I ran 17 miles giving me the confirmation needed to believe I could hack the full 26.2.

I’ll aim to write a blog post-marathon detailing the whole experience this past month. For now, the main lesson I’ve learnt is don’t limit yourself, do the uncomfortable and you can go as far as your mind lets you.

I have decided to try and raise money for https://www.evidenceaction.org/

Why?

- An estimated 525,000 children under the age of five die from diarrhoea each year, often as a result of unsafe water. Evidence Action can provide dispensers for safe water at a cost of just $1.28 per person per year.

- More than 835 million preschool- and school-age children are at risk of parasitic worm infection. Evidence Action's Deworm the World Initiative treats over 280 million children a year at a cost of less than $0.50 per child.

As the above stats show donations of any size can make a major impact to a child's life so please give what you can!
