Story

I am running the Bath Half Marathon in memory of my mum who passed away earlier this year.

My mum suffered a stroke back in 2009, with the doctors telling us that there was only a small chance that the operation they had to undertake was going to be a success. They also told us that she would likely have to learn to read, talk and walk again during her rehabilitation.

My mum had great determination, astounding the doctors with her progress in the years after her illness and building her life back up to as close as what she had before. She was dedicated to her daily 2 hour walks and bi-weekly swimming sessions - and continued her love of travel going on amazing holidays around the world with my step father.

My mum won't be there to watch me cross the finish line in person, but will certainly be my motivation as I look to finish in the best time possible and raise as much money as I can for the Stroke Association.

Stroke Association believes everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. Your support will help them to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments. I have seen first hand how the charity can help someone build their life back up after illness.

Any amount you are able to donate would be greatly appreciated.
