Story
Thanks for your support with my London Marathon JustGiving challenge! My page donations will be sent direct to the charity in a fast and secure way. Its efficient, saves time and cuts costs for the charity. Let's do this!
I am running for Rennie Grove Hospice care as a thank you to them for the support and care they gave my Grandad Doug Harris during his end of life care in May 2020.
Most of you will know I lost my Mum from a young age and i was raised by my Grandparents and had a very close relationship with my Grandad. In 2020 he was diagnosed with Covid pneumonia whilst in Hospital and would later pass away from this due to the effect it had on his lungs and body.
My Grandad spent the final 3 months of his life in Wexham Park Hospital and was not allowed visitors due to restrictions throughout the pandemic. However, when it was clear he didn't have much longer to live. Rennie Grove contacted us and made arrangements for him to spend the final week of his life at home and to eventually pass away peacefully surrounded by his family.
Rennie Grove gave me the opportunity to say good bye and thank you to my Grandad. Something that i will be forever grateful for. This is the reason i have agreed to represent them in the 2022 London Marathon.
I completed the London Marathon in 2015 in memory of my Mum and I want to complete one more this time in memory of my Grandad.
Please help me reach the figure of £2000.00. The money raised will help Rennie Grove provide end of life care for families loved ones like they did for my Grandad.
All donations regardless of how much will be greatly appreciated.
