Story
I have just started swimming for the first time since my 2 shoulder reconstruction surgeries, and to celebrate being able to splash around a bit, I plan to swim 100km (4,000 lengths of 25m pool) by Oct 31st
I will post updates of lengths completed / distance covered.
This will be a huge challenge for me, if you are able to sponsor any amount it will really help keep me going as I aim to raise as much money as possible for these excellent causes which deserve all the support we can muster. Far too many of us have been impacted by cancer in some way. I have lost numerous friends and family and have seen many more battle this awful disease.
Cancer Research UK, the worlds leading cancer charity is dedicated to saving lives through funding research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Cancer Research UK are the only charity fighting over 200 cancer types but don't receive any government funding for their work, so their progress is all thanks to the support of people like you.
Marie Curie provides expert care, guidance and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. Around 2,100 Marie Curie Nurses work day and night, in peoples homes all over the UK, providing hands-on care to people when they need it most.
Together we can really make a difference. We invite our swimmers to tell their story to help spread awareness and raise vital funds for these two incredible causes
