Hello, wonderful donators,

Firstly, thank you so much taking the time to read over my story and donating, it means the world.

Where do I begin, it’s quite simple really. I had a wonderful night celebrating paddy’s birthday, the drinks were most definitely flowing. So much, I happened to wake up to an email and some texts, explaining how I had successfully signed up to this. I can assure you, it was not intentional.

However, after some time and thought, I really wanted to start giving back to a community, support and try and help make a change somewhere out there for a charity that’s dear to my heart.

Most of you all know my Nan, Irene Molloy. The most iconic & hilarious woman that I’ve ever crossed paths with. Unfortunately after age, a couple of accidents and many a cigarette, she started to become poorly with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Her personality (still iconic I might add), her coping mechanisms, her memory all began to change over time. Even though she knew she was becoming poorly, she never failed to continue being the connecting jigsaw piece to the whole family, crack a joke or tell us to F*** off when we would wind her up. She was genuinely the best, her relationships with every member of the family was such a beautiful bond and not one of us didn’t have a strong connection with her. 

When she became her sickest - with other illnesses too, I was travelling the world on a ship, stuck out at sea, not knowing if I would ever make it back to say goodbye. It was the most heartbreaking feeling, knowing that I couldn’t be with my family and her on her final moments. She pulled through and I was fortunate enough to make it back to see her - I told you she was a legend.

I really want to focus on using this run to celebrate her. Reflect on all the good times and help support a charity that still do not get enough to research in more depth. 

I would be proper grateful to anyone that can spare anything to go towards all of this, it will help me get through a drunken enrolment!
