We fund community projects to build brighter futures

Those of you that know me will know two things about me by now; the first is that I like do stupid things like skydiving and getting my nose broken boxing, the second is that I like raising money for the fantastic cause of Universal Chance. After the success of ‘Boxing for Buhinga’ last year raising over £30,000 to rebuild Buhinga School this year’s challenge that I’m taking on is the Polar Circle marathon.

The Polar Circle Marathon - often referred to as “the coolest marathon on earth” takes place in Greenland. The endless ice and snow of this vast country make up the backdrop of this unusual race, in which runners pass glacier tongues, moraine landscapes and soundless, arctic desert.

The average temperature in Greenland in October is normally around -10ºC/15ºF, but colder temperatures should be expected. I’ve heard it may be as cold as -25 ºC when we start running. Essentially this is not your average marathon!
