Story

It’s that time of year that once again where I’m about to do something crazy to raise money for the fantastic cause of Buhinga Primary School in Uganda. This time I may well have outdone myself! On the 19th July 2015 I will be competing in the Zurich Ironman. This involves a 3.8 kilometre swim in open water followed by a 180 kilometre bike and topped off with a marathon.

It’s been a long journey getting to the start line juggling training with work and an MBA. At the turn of the year I could swim no more than 50 meters freestyle. My training for the ironman has included a half marathon, a 3.8km swim, the Edinburgh marathon and two half ironman races. I’m hoping this has prepared me for the physical and mental challenges that lie ahead in Zurich!
