Swansea University students are tackling Everest Base Camp!

In August 2023, we are tackling the challenge of trekking to the World's highest base camp to raise money for Meningitis Research Foundation. This is going to be an EXTREME challenge, from the 8-hour days of trekking up steep terrain, the effects of high altitude on our bodies, to the basic sanitation. We will even have to purify our own drinking water!

We are doing this to support Meningitis Research Foundation, a charity that aims to defeat Meningitis globally by 2030! They help support survivors of meningitis and their families, whilst funding research projects to help defeat this disease.

While small children and young adults are the most at risk, Meningitis can disable and kill anyone within hours, sadly killing over 1000 people around the world every day. 

By donating your money will:

- Fund essential support to those recovering from meningitis and their families.

- Fund research projects with the aim to end meningitis by 2030.

- Fund the production of information packs to help educate and inform the community about the infection and how to spot the symptoms.
