Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am planning to do the coast-to-coast walk with one of my best friend's, and long-time outdoors companion, John Ingham.

We are trying to raise money for Jossie Leaver, who is four years old, and has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer - neuroblastoma.

This means she faces one hell of an ordeal, particularly for a kid so young. Her treatment includes chemotherapy, daily injections, regular blood transfusions and endless hospital visits.

Then comes many more months of intensive treatment including further cycles of chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy.

It should also include immunotherapy, which would boost her chances of beating the cancer but the NHS has just refused to fund this, so her parents are now presented with the gruelling prospect of having to find the money themselves. This is likely to cost hundreds of thousands of pounds. If John and I can make just the slightest dent in that figure, it would be worth every step of the 190 miles we will walk over 12-14 days.

I have wanted to do Alfred Wainwright's coast-to-coast walk ever since I learned about it as a 17 year-old so this is genuinely a lifelong dream but to do it for such a great cause makes it extra special.

Jossie's family are very important to mine and we want to do everything we can to help them. Please sponsor us!
