Story

Thank you for visiting mine and Sophie's fundraising page.

As most of you know this is a charity that we helped to set up and run from scratch. With the help of lots of wonderful people the charity already has in excess of £8000 ready to build the eco shelter and school for these children in Nepal. There are now 13 of us who will brave the world's highest (and frankly, scariest) mountain in a plight to make the lives of these children better in some small way. We are leaving at the end of September and hope to hand over the money as soon as possible, so please encourage as many buddies to visit this site and donate what they can. We know it can be cliche, but every little really does help!

If you don't know much about what we have done/are doing then have a look at the website: www.worldshighestgig.com We hope you agree that it's a mighty fine cause.

THE PROJECT IN BRIEF

In October 2005, a group of musicians and artistsc will form possibly the most spectacular concert ever seen. There will be no stage, no lights and no crowds, but the Himalayas have an atmosphere of their own. The artists will create a new record for the world's highest gig as they force music from the thin air at Kalapattar - Everest's most advanced base camp. The object of Nepal Balbalika Trust Is to provide the most unfortunate children with: A school at which they will receive: shelter, food, basic education, healthcare and some recreational facilities. Ongoing funding in order to pay for teachers, doctors, and further community projects. Protection from kidnapping and child prostitution. This trust is trying to raise funds to incorporate its efforts to help the children of this area. Any donation you can offer in support of our cause is greatly appreciated. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Nepal Balbalika Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support. Much love, Ben & Soph. xxx
