Story
I'm part of an
'elite' team (elite: we've invested in new socks and we've got a head
torch that's brighter than the sun...) that has decided to take part
in this year's 100 km London to Brighton trek for the British Heart
Foundation.
We're partly doing it so it gets my fat arse off
the sofa, but it's really for a very good cause. All donations, no matter how large or small, are always gratefully received.
Coronary
Heart Disease was reported last year to be the UK's biggest killer,
resulting in 75,000 deaths a year. Or about 200 deaths each day. This
disease is however only one aspect covered under the broad umbrella
of the BHF. The BHF focus' on education, support groups and
funding vital research across a broad range of heart and circulation
related conditions.
