Story

24-Mar: Eastleigh 10km
09-Jun: Kingston Lacey Half Marathon

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Last November, I asked Lucy and Tasha if they would run a half marathon with me to raise money for Beni's treatment. I can't say that they jumped at the chance but being the lovely people that they are, they agreed! With Beni passing away, it made us even more determined to run, to remember Beni and to raise funds for Sebastian's action trust.

The reason I chose Sebastian's action trust was because they gave us the opportunity as a family to have a holiday at their purpose built holiday home, Bluebells. It is a wonderful place, a stimulating environment where happy memories can be made. This, for children like Beni and their families, is time to be cherished. Beni loved his time there, as did his big sister Bella, especially swimming in their pool, chilling out in the sensory room and being together with extended family and friends.

We began our training in the middle of January and are slowly ticking off the miles as we get fitter. I am so proud of both Tasha and Lucy as neither of them had ever been 'runners' before and both of them are doing really well. I also have to say a big thank you to Angela, our personal trainer who we meet up with every Sunday to give us a good workout.(Last Sunday being particularly hard, I don't think any of us could walk for two days without looking like John Wayne!) When she heard about Beni, she offered to train us for free, a kind and generous gesture.

We are running the Eastleigh 10km on the 24th of March and the Kingston Lacey Half Marathon on  the 9th of June. Who knows, we may doing a longer event after that...watch this space.
