As you know my dear friend Nick recently passed away due to blood clots.

Nick was a friggin awesome bloke and a really close friend. We spent most of our time together either drinking far too much or not drinking at all so that we could undertake some stupid challenge. This was either sport related (usually triathlon) or involved doing something idiotic like jumping out of a plane, white water rafting or speed boating down the Thames. As he is no longer around I have decided that I am going to slowly work my way through my other friends, roping them into some similar sporting activity. Plus the drink related ones too. On this occasion I managed to rope in my Father-in-law! Next it could be you!

I will be cycling the whole distance on a folding bicycle with tiny wheels and to commemorate Nick, I will be dressed in some very smart shorts and a Ralph Lauren shirt, ironed and starched to within an inch of its life.
