The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

My name is Benjamin Felt.

Next year I will be taking a group of University Of Bath students to climb up the awe-inspiring Machu Pichu in Peru. This 4-5 day climb is not for the faint-hearted. It will take a lot of hard work to even just make it to Peru, let alone a lot of training to be able to complete the climb. However, all this work is not really for the climb, but to raise money for the incredible National Autistic Society. Now, more than ever does this amazing organisation need our help to better the lives of autistic people. During the COVID-19 pandemic, autistic people were seven times more likely to feel chronically lonely, and 6 times more likely to have low-life satisfaction. Additionally, one in five family members had to reduce work due to caring responsibilities.

I understand that the Coronvirus has made life difficult for everyone, including myself. Nonetheless, if you can donate anything at all to help this extremely worthy cause, then I promise for the people who are in need of the National Autistic Societies support, this money will go a remarkably long way.
