Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am hoping to complete the 10km open water swim to see if I can do it & whilst I can.  I have entered both Kielder water reservoir 10km swim on september 7th & Buttermere 10km swim the following sunday september 14th.

It has been 6 years since the road crash that killed Tiggy & Richard her Grandfather & one of his 2 dogs.  It has also been  2 years since I last did a physical challenge in Tiggys memory.

Tiggy loved swimming and so do I as do Tiggys sisters Poppy & Otalia.

Tiggy loved nature & being outdoors whatever the weather ….. she always said it was a lovely sunny day whether or not it actually was!  Open water swimming is exciting, challenging and a great adventure.

This is the first ever organised open water swimming event held at Kielder water reservoir.  It  is also the largest man made lake in northern Europe.   Buttermere lake is a beautiful deep lake in the lake district.

Im hoping to raise vital funds for BRAKE.

BRAKE  is a road safety charity that exists to stop the needless deaths and serious injuries that happen on roads every day, make streets and communities safer for everyone, and care for families bereaved and injured in road crashes. Brake promotes road safety awareness, safe and sustainable road use and effective road safety policies.

Their support after the accident with literature for the girls, Ben & myself and  through their helplines was priceless.  The work they do is crucial to try and prevent further crashes & if sadly crashes happen their support for the families bereaved and injured is invaluable.
