Story
On the 13th of November I am heading to Nepal to embark upon a week long trek ascending to Everest Base Camp and higher, finishing at an altitude of approximately 18,500 ft.
Even though I am not climbing all the way to the summit (on this occasion), this is most definitely a step up (no pun intended) in comparison to my usual pretence at exercise on the scenic hills of Hendon! I trust you will agree.
I wish to emphasise that I am not asking people to fund this trip - it is 100% fully self-funded. However, I would like to use this opportunity to raise money and awareness for Hatzola Herts. This is a new charity that I am immensely proud to be a part of as a paramedic responder.
Hatzola Herts is a volunteer emergency ambulance service based in Borehamwood, Herts. In addition to the team of highly trained ambulance responders, it is also the first UK Hatzola to have a fully functioning advanced life support (ALS) team, comprising of doctors and paramedics, available to assist with the most critically ill patients.
The costs of establishing, maintaining and growing an ambulance service are huge, so any donation you could give would be immensely appreciated. However, please do not feel under any pressure to do so.
With much gratitude.
