Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We lost our beautiful baby son Benjamin in 2018 after he was born extremely premature at just 25 weeks gestation. He fought to live for 4 traumatic weeks in neo-natal care before we made the heartbreaking decision to let him go.

Unfortunately our wider family has experienced baby loss before... My brother and his wife lost their first son due to a still birth around 16 years ago and my cousin lost his first son in similar circumstances to us after a very premature birth.

Sadly, although our experience is rare, it does still happen to thousands of families in the UK every year. And that's not even including all the families who suffers baby loss through a miscarriage.

Thank you for supporting our cause. Lily Mae Foundation provides 1 to 1 support for families and run bereavement workshops to help people face the tragedy and immense grief of baby loss.

They also provide beautiful memory boxes to maternity hospitals so that mums and dads who suffer still births and neo-natal deaths, and who won't be able to take their baby home, can at least make some precious memories.

Finally, the Lily Mae Foundation works to try to remove any stigma or taboo around baby loss so that people are aware and feel comfortable discussing it openly.

As a mum I want to be able to talk about my beautiful baby son Benjamin and to honour his memory and I'm pleased when people feel able to ask me about him. Because he is important and deserves to be remembered.

Thank you for your time, love and support.
