Story
Hi all,
I have decided to enter into the London Landmark's Half Marathon with a few of my University friends and have got the opportunity to raise funds for Cats Protection, a charity that means a lot to the people around me.
As some of you might be aware, I have a next door neighbour back home who rescues, looks after and sends cats to new and loving homes, through her own individual hard work and the help she receives from charities such as Cats Protection, she is able to provide the care and love that cats deserve. Through Mary's dedication, hard work and love for cats, we have been able to adopt our own family cat, Freddie, whom she started to look after from just a few weeks old, he is now 2 years old and thriving, all of this is possible because of the hard work she does.
Unfortunately, in 2018, a tragic accident happened where the shelter that Mary has located in her garden, set alight and unfortunately, every cat within the shelter lost their life and the shelter got burned to the ground. This crushed not only Mary but the local community too as everyone knows Mary and the hard work she does. Because of this, I organised a previous fundraiser (https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/help-mary-build-a-new-shelter) to help raise funds so that Mary can continue the work that she does and loves, rescuing cats. Through this fundraiser, this helped fund the need for a brand new, safer and better shelter and helped give back the motivation that Mary needed to do what she loves most.
Because of this, I have witnessed the hard work and dedication that people put in to rescuing not only cats, but all animals so I have chosen Cats Protection to raise funds for, enabling all cats to find a loving home that they deserve.
Any donations would be much appreciated at any size and will go towards a great cause.
Ben
