Story

I DID IT !!! Not in the time I hoped but in 4 hours 15 mins, Still time to sponsor me - Many thanks

Some of you are aware that my wife Sarah died of breast cancer last year at the age of 39, leaving behind her three small children and their father. She fought the disease bravely and with dignity, not troubling others with her pain or sadness while always having a smile and a helping hand. She is sorely missed by her family and friends.

Since we lost Sarah I have been thinking of ways that I can become more involved in helping raise awareness of the widespread effects breast cancer can have for those who suffer and for the effects upon their family and friends. I feel strongly that I must do what I can to raise money to support cancer research and perhaps save another family from our experience and so I have chosen a charity called Against Breast Cancer.

My drive to make a difference has been my wife and in her honour I have pledged to run the London marathon in April 2005 and am now requesting sponsorship. I have set myself the ambitious target of running to raise £100,000 knowing that every penny you can give may help to finding a cure for this dreadful disease and make the life of those who have it more bearable and longer lasting.

I will appreciate any support you can give me in memory of Sarah.
