Story
Our dad, Bernard de Maid, sadly passed away on 21st July after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
We are forever grateful he made it back to the UK where he spent his final weeks surrounded by us and his loved ones.
We would be very grateful if you would please donate to Pancreatic Action in lieu of flowers. It is an important charity that focuses on an early diagnosis of the cancer, which is crucial.
Everyone that knew him is welcome to attend his funeral which will take place on Friday, 5th August. The details are:
- 11am - Church Service at St Albans Church (Swinton St, Splott)
- 12pm - Cremation Service at Thornhill Crematorium
- 12.30pm - Celebration of Bernard's Life at St Peters RFC (Minster Rd, Penylan)
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the NHS staff (especially hospital staff on ward A7 at UHW), who were incredibly supportive and continued to go that extra mile in accommodating all of our Dad's wishes.
Thank you to everyone so far for all their kind wishes and support.
Lindsey, Sarah, Catherine, Matthew & Lucie ❤️
