Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. For almost 30 years my brother Fr John Fagan has been a member of the Xaverian Missionary community in Bangladesh, one of the poorest countries in the world.
He works with local people to alleviate problems associated with extreme poverty, deprivation and all too often natural disasters.
Your donations will be forwarded to support his work in Bangladesh.
Please also encourage friends and colleagues to contribute.
Before setting off I wrote "I am hoping God and St James will be with me every Compeed-assisted step of the very long and winding pilgrims' way for 5 weeks in August/September 2012. All prayers will be greatly appreciated." Many of you will know by now that your prayers and support were so effective and influential that I was energised to walk on beyond Santiago to Fisterra. A total of approx. 600 miles within the 5 weeks. A truly marvellous experience. I found time to reflect on many aspects of life including how blest I am to have such wonderful friends and family. Less comforting was the realisation of the futility of Compeed in dealing with blisters in high temperatures.
On returning I have been both pleased and surprised by the number of people who on finding out about my camino and the associated fundraising aspect of it have been keen to contribute to John's missionary work. For that reason it has been decided to keep the site active.
