SPW Triathlon 2008 · 9 March 2008

Our work is delivered by young people, for young people, giving them the skills and resources to lead change.

Story

Dear Friend,

On Sunday 28th April I completed my second triathlon in support of SPW.  I came in around two thirds of the way down, but in competition with very young, very fit people so I was reasonably pleased with my performance.

This photo shows me with Olympic rower James Cracknell, and international triathlete Annie Emmerson being congratulated on raising the highest figure of the 230 entrants.  (The beautiful blond is Leo Oldfield who was the second highest fundraiser).   I have now hit my target and would like to take this opportunity to thank every one who has so generously supported me.  We are all asked so often for great causes and I am grateful to all those who reached beyond the compassion fatigue barrier and made a donation.

The site is still open so to anyone still looking to donate, consider the pain of plunging into the Serpentine on a cold April Sunday morning, and please give what you can. Every £10 helps to raise a significant amount for a truly excellent and inspiring charity and the wonderful work that SPW does in the developing world.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Students Partnership Worldwide will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

Bernard
