Retina UK is the only UK charity dedicated solely to working for people affected by inherited sight loss. We fund medical research to accelerate the search for treatments for the future, and provide information and support to help people lead better lives today.

Story

Hi,

most of you know what jailbreak is, but for those who don't its where you sponsor me and megan to get as far away from Cambridge in 36 hours with no money. We then take a photo of where we are and come back. Basically it'll be meg flirting (and or selling herself) to get rides (maybe literally) around, and hopefully out the country. While I hide in her suspiciously large suitcase. We would busk, or do something along those lines, but we have no talents. Well, Megan can swim, but who really cares about swimming...

So your sponsorship will come in handy to help us on our way and to raise money for both of our charities!

My charity, (the one on this page) is Retinitis Pigmentosa Fighting Blindness. This is a hereditary and incurable eye disease that gradually makes one go blind. The disease first takes hold of your periphery vision then slowly closes in until you have extreme tunnel vision.  i.e. from this

to this

This process can take from 1 year to 30 years to go from complete sight to complete blindness. The reason for me choosing this charity is because my mum was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa when she was 30. Now she is legally blind and has less than 5% vision (around the 2% mark now we think).

So if if you could all dig deep and sponsor us, that would be awesome. On this website its really easy to do but when you do it TICK GIFT AID. Think its something to do with avoiding tax and that.

Ideas for sponsoring: 4p a mile, or something like that

Maybe £10 for out the UK, £5 for out of England.

Or just be creative....
