Story

Hey everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am super thrilled to be taking part in the AFC Wimbledon Charity Mascot Race again, in aid of St John Ambulance, London Region. Having won in the previous competition, I can’t wait to meet up with some old friends and rivals, and defend my title. Most importantly, though, I am running to raise awareness around the importance of first aid and empower people to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

Every year up to 140,000 people lose their lives in situations where first aid could have given them a chance to live. A significant percentage of those are in London and, despite all efforts to date, the capital has a lamentably low level of First Aid knowledge and training as a proportion of the population. St John Ambulance believes that no one should have to die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. By teaching essential life saving skills to more people, we are enabling them to be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. With your help, we can continue to save lives.

So, please dig deep, be generous and make some noise for the fastest Badger on the block.

See you soon,

Bertie Badger
