I will be participating in the Midnight Walk at Colchester on 9th June with family and friends. This will be a final tribute to my very brave husband who died in February. It will be an honour to do this walk for him and the Hospice. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer over three years ago, and was told that he had probably only three months to live.

In true "Ian style" he refused to accept this prognosis and went on to defy all the odds with great humour and courage, and even at the end of his life he still displayed this great courage. He asked me before he died , if I would continue raising money for the Hospice, which I have been doing during our journey for some three years.

The Hospice became part of his (and my) life. He loved going to the Clacton Day Centre every Monday where he had so much support and made many friends. Also the In-Patient Unit at Colchester where he was nursed with great love and care.

Ian was a real character. I shall miss him so much as will the family and many friends.
