Jordan Brookes, our Operational Director, and Daniel Sanchez, our Operations Manager are running the Manchester 10k race in the name of Mind. the mental health charity.
For some time now, the team at Bespoke have spoken about getting more involved with charity work and therefore look at how we can demonstrate our corporate social responsibility as one of the key values at Bespoke. Now we have a growing team that includes other people who have expressed interest in this, we feel now is a great time to get started. Giving something back to the community / society is always a great thing to do and with that in mind we have decided to start holding some organised charity events.
We’re pleased to announce that we have partnered up with Mind as our Charity of the Year. Below is a brief extract explaining Mind and how they work:
Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, and we felt that working with them was important to us, as mental health problems are largely “invisible” and we want to do more to raise awareness, both at home and at work.
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem, however only 25% of these people receive the support that they need.
There were 57 million prescriptions for antidepressants in 2016, at a cost to the NHS of over £262 million. Worryingly, this is an increase of 46% since 2012
Attitudes towards mental health are improving however there is far more that can be done, and we want to help.
