Hatch supports underrepresented entrepreneurs from across the UK to imagine, launch and grow businesses that are sustainable, successful and have a positive and lasting impact on their communities. We’re committed to building a fairer society by helping develop entrepreneurs’ skills, knowledge and confidence through our unique programmes designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. We’re not typical of the third sector. Although we’re a charity, we think and act like a business. Since 2014, we’ve supported more than 700 businesses and 5000 entrepreneurs to flourish, building a vibrant network of partners, funders and investors who share our vision in the process.

Story

I am dedicating my year of cycling to raise money for Hatch. I volunteer as a trustee of OPV/Hatch. This is a marvellous group of inspiring individuals who dedicate themselves to helping others become self-supporting through enterprise. I've decided to use my year of cycling to helping them raise much needed funds. I have four events in the diary culminating in a Lands End to John O'Groats in September. The first of my events is in May in the run-up to Startup Brixton

Next up is London Surrey 100 at the end of July. Taking me past my old house near Box Hill.

Sweden was a success at 150KM riding around a lake in Motala. The 2 days each-way drive was a bit much but we had great time. I took 4 bikes to lend to friends from overseas and we had fun.

The year kicked off with me cycling around London - 303 km over 2 days in May 14&15 2016. Here are the details: http://www.london-revolution.com.

OPV is London's leading community enterprise charity and aim their work predominantly at the locality. Local trade and business are important to the Lambeth - one of the worst affected areas by un- and underemployment. We know what startups need, and have graduated 64 businesses through our programme. We therefore know that entrepreneurs need knowledge, inspiration and funding .
