It is with so much sadness we have learned one of our Team Towans, Vicky has lost her battle with cancer.
When Vicky was in the hospice we all felt helpless not being able to support her but all felt relieved she was being so well cared for and comforted. It was decided our only way of helping Vicky, who was always so caring and selfless, was to fundraise to help the hospice help her and many others
Vicky was so grateful knowing of our challenge and although our walks are now in her memory we are determined to raise as much as we can in appreciation for the amazing work they do and to say thank you for caring for our friend and colleague.

My friends and I will be do doing two sponsored beach walks in Burnham-On-Sea in May 2022 to raise money for Weston Hospicecare. We will be walking from Burnham Beach to Brean and back again. For more than 30 years they have given palliative care to not just people with cancer but those with other life-limiting illnesses. The work they do is remarkable and the support to not just the patients within the hospice but to their patients family and friends, is in league of it’s own.
Sadly, all of us have had cancer touch our lives in some way. Whether that may be personally, professional or a friend or loved one with cancer. Weston Hospicecare support countless people and their vital work must continue so they can carry on doing this. Anything you can donate would be so greatly appreciated and will be used to support many, many more people at Weston Hospicecare.
Thank you so very much from all the staff at The Towans Residential Care Home.
