NASS is only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people with axial spondyloarthritis (AS), a painful, progressive rheumatic disease which mainly affects the spine. An estimated 200,000 people live with AS in the UK. Our 90+ branches across the UK offer regular exercise to anyone with AS.

Story

Ankylosing spondylitis  is a painful, chronic inflammatory disease of the skeleton that affects joints and can cause eventual fusion of the spine. Complete fusion results in a complete rigidity of the spine.
As of 2012, no cure is known for AS.

In November last year, we sadly lost our Dad to heart disease, arising from diabetes, the symptoms of which we believe were long hidden by AS. Dad had suffered for over 40 years from AS, bravely and stoicly coping with the disease and its effects.
We would like to honour his memory by raising money for NASS, the charity for whom Dad volunteered, and who also helped him so much in return.

We will be attempting to walk the six peak challenge known as the Buttermere Horseshoe this September - any contributions will go straight to NASS and would be most gratefully received.
