4k with a 4 year old · 6 December 2020

We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We believe that home is everything.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Cleo, Ella, Felicity, Henry, Ivy, Lexi, Sophie and Victoria are doing a sponsored scoot to help give a little back this Christmas. The kiddies (and the long suffering parents) will be attempting a 4k scoot/walk/piggy back/drag from Hengistbury Head to Boscombe Pier. Anyone who has walked anywhere with a 4/5 year old will appreciate this is a significant challenge. The kids will be raising money for Shelter with the aim of helping other families this Christmas.

Please donate if you are able - only a small amount goes a long way. Thanks for your support.

COVID - If lockdown is extended this event will still take place but the children will take part individually as part of their daily exercise.

This year, Christmas might feel a bit different to usual. But most of us can still look forward to a cosy festive break spent celebrating as best we can, in secure homes where we can feel safe, warm, and comforted.

Many people struggling with bad housing and homelessness have already endured the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic without a safe place to live. And now, Christmas will be spent in cramped bed and breakfasts, sleeping in cars, or in temporary accommodation hundreds of miles away from family.

No one should have to cope with such misery and stress – let alone at this time of year. It’s unacceptable.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
