Our ambulance staff and volunteers really go the extra mile to keep us all safe during challenging times. The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) provides emergency and urgent care across 10,000 square miles, serving over 5.5 million residents and over 20 million visitors each year. SWASFT crews deal with around 2,500 incidents a day across the South West. I am also setting myself this challenge in memory of my dear Mum Elizabeth Phillips who in the last few years of her life depended on the highly skilled and trained ambulance personnel to get her to hospital in moments of crisis. We were all too aware during these times of how far stretched this service was and continues to be and as a family we wanted to give back to say thank you!!
