Amyloidosis is a rare, often fatal disease, caused by accumulation of protein fibres, amyloid, in the tissues. The Fund provides invaluable support for research and patients in the National Amyloidosis Centre at the Royal Free Hospital.

Story

On Sunday 2nd April 2023, Jon, Danny and I will be running the Reading Half Marathon raising vital funds for the UK NHS National Amyloidosis Centre at the Royal Free Hospital.

We have chosen this charity as recently our beloved Dad (Paul) was diagnosed with this horrible rare disease and will be undergoing treatment imminently, with regular support from the NAC.

The NAC has been at the cutting edge of treatment and research into all aspects of AMY for many years now and is responsible for the national caseload.  Without this service, it may have taken many more months for our Dad to receive this diagnosis.

As a family we are ready to navigate the tough journey ahead and support our wonderful Dad in any way we can.

If you are able to, it would mean the world to us if you can kindly support us and the NAC by making a donation, however big or small and help us to continue the vital research into this terrible disease.

Lots of love,

Danny, Jon and Laura & all The Stokes Family xxxxx
