Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
I’ve signed up to run the Hackney Half marathon on 26th September to raise money for Homerton Hope and their efforts to update their Neonatal ICU family rooms. I’m really grateful for any support that you can give.
As many of you will know my daughter Elif was pretty unwell when she was born, with Meconium Aspiration Syndrome which led to Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn. Elif spent her first few months at Great Ormond St and Homerton Hopsital and the next few months on oxygen at home. Homerton Hospital was where we spent the bulk of her first months with long days and nights at the hospital. Whilst lots of time was spent on the ward with Elif sometimes we just needed to retreat - to make a cup or tea, have something to eat or just be away from the incessant noise of the hospital machines. These ‘retreats’ wouldn’t have been possible without the NICU family rooms, which are spaces for the families of poorly babies to get some time to breathe. Homerton Hope is raising money for a much needed upgrade of these rooms. I’m running to help support this effort and to say thank you for all amazing nurses, doctors and staff at Homerton. I’m also running for my brave and funny daughter who had a rough start but who is thriving after receiving lifesaving support from the amazing NHS
