Story

Thank you so much for visiting my page and considering supporting me as I raise money for Spring ❤️

The challenge

The challenge I have set myself is to "cycle to Samos"! I'll be doing a virtual route from Poole Park to the Zefiros Beach Hotel in Samos, which is a total distance of 2,264.2 miles. This means that I'll be clocking up the miles as I go on bike rides throughout the year, and virtually tracking how far I've travelled. I'll post updates below showing you how far I've travelled, or you can track my virtual route here: https://dashboard.myleschallenges.com/?c=QkVUSEFOWVNQUklORw==

(Thanks to Toby at the Myles app for generously creating a bespoke virtual route for this fundraiser).

Why Spring?

Spring is an absolutely incredible local charity who have provided so much support to me. In May 2022, at almost 21 weeks pregnant, we received the heartbreaking news that our baby boy had not made it. This is a pain that no person or family should have to feel. And yet we were not alone in the pain, and that made all the difference. As well as the love and care we received from family and friends, the emotional and practical support that we have received from Spring every step of the way has been completely invaluable.

Spring not only provided a private suite in the maternity unit for me, but also the amazing care of my bereavement midwives who were with me day in day out. I'm so grateful for their compassion, gentleness, reassurance and capability in the hardest days. Spring also continues to support me with ongoing care through phone calls, texts, appointments, counselling, memorial events, support groups, coffee mornings and so much more.

By fundraising, my hope is that others who need it can receive the same amazing care. Every penny raised makes a difference, and means that bereaved families like us get the support they need.

Baby James continues to bring love and make a difference by being the inspiration and dedication behind this fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who reads this, donates, and supports in whatever way - it means the world ❤️
