Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Betty's JustGiving page. Betty has always been raising money for disabled groups since she contracted Polio when she was just 19. Although she is 88, she has worn a caliper on her leg ever since, and has to use crutches or wheelchair to get around and she has  recently been diagnosed with a rare cancer that cannot be treated. She does not know how long she has but has been inspired by Sir Captain Tom's challenge to do 100  so she was attempting to do 100metres swimming at the Phoenix pool in Bradwell.

Because of the pandemic and her illness she has not swum for over 2 years but on Saturday morning she got into the pool and did 200 metres and now wants to try to do 100 lengths of the pool. She is a very determined and amazing lady and hopefully she will achieve this by doing a few more lengths each Saturday.
