On account of my mother’s involvement with HOST UK, I’ve been aware of this important organisation all my life. Now that I am myself a student at University of Nottingham, I am meeting many international students and thinking about how challenging it must be to be so far from home. Time zone differences make Skyping not always easy and expense will likely prevent the chance of popping home.

HOST UK arranges home visits for international students to spend a day or a weekend with a UK volunteer host. Having met a number of
students who have done this, it is lovely to see the delight it gives them. 

I want to live in a world where there is tolerance, where we are open to ideas and better understanding of each other's culture and traditions. I believe HOST UK is helping to make this happen and I would welcome your support to see it flourish. So, I’m doing something scary and daring, hoping you’ll give generously.
