Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Sri Lanka has been struggling amid its fourth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Sri Lankan healthcare system is under strain due to the impact of the pandemic and access to routine and emergency healthcare is limited. Its fourth lockdown has just been extended and the economic impact this is having has led to many hospitals not being able to provide adequate care. As of September 11th 2021 there is an average of 4,554 new cases and 192 deaths per week. The total number of deaths have now surpassed 11,000.

On the 26th of September, I am running the Manchester 10k run to raise funds for the Medical Institute of Tamils (MIOT), a wonderful charity which has been working hard to support health services in North and East of Sri Lanka. These areas were affected during the prolonged ethnic conflict and the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami.

Please help me support MIOT to raise money to fund two Oxygen Concentrators for Mullaitivu and Mannar Hospitals. Any donation, no matter the amount will help!!

Thank you so much for your support :)
