The bike ride is done, but there is still a long way to go to hit the 5k. 

In August this year I will be part of a team of people travelling from Milton Keynes to Cebu City, located in the South of the Philippines, to work with Mercy in Action.
Mercy in Action is a UK-based charity that runs projects across the Philippines rescuing and supporting street children and destitute families.

Children as young as 2 years old end up living on the streets for many reasons;
•    abandonment due to poverty
•    substance abuse or imprisonment of parents
•    escape from the sex industry
•    escape from abuse or sometimes even worse.  

Mercy in Action runs projects that help to safely re-home and educate these children, giving them the future that every child deserves.

During our visit we will be involved in Mercy in Action's projects including;
•    building native houses
•    organising and funding feeding and clothing programs in the slums     and rubbish dumps
•    running activities for some of the city's street children.
